About the Vineyard:  Located on the East Coast of Tasmania (near Bicheno), The Devil’s Corner Vineyard is a picturesque cool climate vineyard consisting of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. This 180Ha vineyard produces exceptional quality grapes destined for the highly acclaimed Devil’s Corner Wines. 

Job Description

About the Role:  Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, your major responsibilities will be to co-ordinate staff, contractors and equipment to ensure work programmes are carried out efficiently and effectively as required by the Vineyard Manager.  Additionally, you will assist the Vineyard Manager in the scheduling and management of the modern irrigation system as well as preparation of budgets and operational reports.  There is an expectation that you will assume responsibilities for all vineyard activities in the absence of the Vineyard Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience

About the person:  The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their experience in staff supervision and the practical management of vineyard operations including knowledge of modern viticultural techniques, have excellent communication skills and an ability to undertake all administrative duties related to vineyard operations.  Experience in plant operations and a commitment to quality systems is also essential.  Other requirements include a good level of computer skills, a commitment to quality systems and the ability to work as part of a team.  Qualifications in Viticulture or Horticulture are desirable but not essential.
